The Employment and Labour Group at Lerners provides employment, labour and human rights related legal advice to both employers and employees. Across the spectrum of harassment and safety policies to employment, confidentiality and non-solicitation agreements, we can provide advice and assist employees or employers to deal with disputes or advice on obligations in day to day operations.

We assist with progressive discipline programs and termination of employment – whether negotiating terms of termination or litigating wrongful dismissal claims.

Lerners' lawyers provide up-to-date and immediate workplace investigation reports and rebuttal reports for corporations, first nation band councils, first nation administrators, municipalities, and individuals. We have experience in investigations reviewing employee performance, fiduciary duties and ethical violations, workplace harassment, sexual harassment, violence or bullying in the workplace, discrimination and human rights, as well as health and safety issues.

From courts to tribunals, we can assist you with resolving human rights complaints, Canada Labour Code complaints and proceedings before other employment related tribunals such as Employment Standards, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and Occupational Health and Safety.

We are experienced in advising on union campaigns and certification processes, collective agreement negotiations and grievance proceedings. We appear regularly before arbitrators, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Canadian Industrial Relations Board, the Ontario and federal Employment Standards Branch and Tribunals, the federal and provincial Human Rights Tribunals, the WCAT as well as appearing before all levels of courts in Canada.
