Competition Litigation

Competition, or antitrust, litigation involves proceedings that arise out of or involve the Competition Act such as conspiracies, supply and pricing issues, abuse of dominance or other conduct that substantially lessens competition in Canadian markets. These proceedings may be instituted by the Competition Bureau or private parties and may be before the Competition Tribunal or the Courts. Lerners is experienced and knowledgeable in competition litigation. Our lawyers have acted on cases that have gone before the Competition Tribunal on such matters as mergers, abuse of dominance and refusal to deal. We also have significant experience in bringing private actions for claims arising under the Competition Act, such as conspiracy, price discrimination and price maintenance.

Whether you are being investigated by the Competition Bureau, in a proceeding before the Competition Tribunal, an aggrieved party who wants to make a complaint or bring your own proceeding before the Competition Tribunal, or need to advance or defend a private action in the realm of competition law, we can provide you with the practical and efficient analysis, strategy advice and representation you need.
