Lerners Admits New Partners
Lerners LLP is proud to congratulate seven outstanding lawyers on their admission to the Firm’s partnership: Lindsay Abercrombie, Debbie Boswell, Kathryn Ball, Mark Evans, Jane Scholes, Greg Willson and Renée Zatzman Stein.

Lindsay Abercrombie
Lindsay practices family law, focusing on negotiation and conflict resolution for topics including cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, and separation agreements. Lindsay is also well-versed in fertility law and is committed to helping individuals and couples navigate the legalities of ova donation, sperm donation, and surrogacy agreements with sensitivity and care.
Debbie Boswell
Debbie practices in the areas of health law, commercial litigation, appellate advocacy, and education law. She represents and provides advice to clients on professional regulation, privacy issues, medical negligence, labour and employment law, business and contractual disputes, human rights law, and workplace investigations.
Kathryn Ball
Kathryn is a health law and insurance defence lawyer who acts for healthcare professionals in civil actions and regulatory matters. She is adept at representing her clients in a wide range of issues, including investigations, complaints, discipline, fitness to practice, and registration matters. Kathryn also represents insurers in actions involving commercial general liability, motor vehicle accidents (tort and accident benefits), historical sexual abuse, environmental damage, and coverage disputes. With extensive experience and special attention to detail, Kathryn has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
Mark Evans
Mark’s practice includes a broad range of services for businesses, including the fundamentals (structuring, M&A, etc), but with a special interest in technology-related law (licensing, copyrights, trademarks, and general IP, as well as privacy compliance and cybersecurity and breach response).
Jane Scholes
Jane has a dynamic advisory and advocacy practice and is a member of the firm’s health law and commercial litigation practice groups. Within these broad areas she specializes in regulated professions, labour and employment, and education. She has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before a number of specialized tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal, and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. Jane prides herself on providing timely, practical, and comprehensive advice tailored to the unique circumstances of each client.
Jane is also a certified independent investigator. In this role she investigates highly complex, contentious, and sensitive matters arising from conflicts in unionized and non-unionized environments.
Greg Willson
Greg is a member of our plaintiff personal injury group. Down to earth, yet up-front and straightforward, his training in education helps him to communicate effectively with his clients. He takes pride in speaking with plain language so his clients are left without any questions. Named “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers in Canada, Greg’s goal is to make his clients feel comfortable and confident in their road to recovery while getting them the results they deserve.
Renée Zatzman Stein
Renée has a broad range of litigation experience in the areas of medical negligence, health law, professional liability, insurance defence, and commercial litigation. Recognized as “One to Watch” in the Best Lawyers of Canada for Health Law, she has appeared in many levels of court ranging from the Ontario Small Claims Court to the Superior Court of Justice, representing physicians in professional negligence and disciplinary proceedings.
