A Lerners Lawyer is President of OTLA for the Third Time
Lerners is proud to announce that, effective May 10, 2024, Sandev Purewal, a partner in our Toronto office, assumed the role of President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) for the 2024/25 term.
Sandev is the third Lerners lawyer appointed as president of the association — a distinction no other law firm can claim. He is also the OTLA’s first racialized president, a fact that mirrors the firm’s commitment to diversity.
OTLA is a non-profit association with a membership of nearly 1,400 legal professionals and law students. In addition to protecting the rights of people who have suffered injury and loss through the wrongdoing of others, the association works to promote safety in communities across Ontario.
Sandev joined the firm in 2022 as a partner with the Toronto office’s personal injury and class actions groups. Certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, he has more than 20 years experience in personal injury matters, disability claims, and insurance lawsuits. His practice also focuses on education law and matters relating to privacy and data security.
