On Thursday October 18, we had the honour and privilege of attending the 28th Annual London and District Business Hall of Fame Gala at the London Convention Centre, sponsored by Junior Achievement Canada. In attendance were Olympians (Damian Warner), business and community leaders, and Mayoral candidate and now Mayor-elect Ed Holder, as the event brought together various members of the London and area community. The evening was in celebration of 2018 Hall of Fame Laureates Bill Gray, President and CEO of L.H. Gray & Son Limited, and Claude Pensa Q.C., lawyer and founder of Harrison Pensa. It also honoured JA Alumni Award of Achievement recipient Brad Geddes, President and CEO of Zucora Home.
As two young lawyers striving to make a difference in the London community, it was tremendously impactful to hear these distinguished leaders discuss the importance of volunteerism and serving one’s community.
The wisdom gained from these community leaders are important lessons that we will take with us as we aim to emulate these community leaders and make our own impact on the London community.
Congratulations again to Mr. Bill Gray and Mr. Claude Pensa, and thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, for our community. You have set an admirable example of how to balance a career while never forgetting to give back to the community.
