Professional Highlights
- Renée has broad litigation experience in the areas of medical negligence, health law, professional liability, insurance defence, and commercial litigation. She represents physicians in professional negligence and disciplinary proceedings and has appeared as counsel before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, as well as the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.
- Renée has acted for numerous clients, including:
- physicians and clinics in medical negligence actions, including assisting in a successful jury outcome in a trial alleging a missed diagnosis;
- physicians accused of sexual misconduct allegations before the courts and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario;
- physicians before the Health Professions Appeal Review Board in a review of decisions of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario;
- physicians in a proposed class action by former patients for assault and battery;
- a major Canadian retailer in personal injury, occupiers’ liability, and product liability claims;
- a technology company in a break of representation and warranty action; and
- as trial counsel for a major Canadian bank in a breach of contract claim.
