Professional Highlights

Maya is an associate in our Appeals, Commercial Litigation, Education Law and Health Law groups. Her practice focuses on litigation and dispute resolution in a wide range of areas, including medical negligence, professional regulation, and commercial disputes. Maya has experience appearing before the Consent and Capacity Board, Ontario Review Board, Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Appeal. Maya has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada as co-counsel to an intervener on three appeals.

Maya has a passion for teaching – she has had the privilege of teaching ‘culturally competent adjudication’ to tribunal adjudicators. Maya is also the Managing Editor, Author Liaison for the Health Law in Canada Journal.

When she’s not working, Maya enjoys travelling, cooking, staying active through hiking, tennis and cycling, and solving puzzles (literally and metaphorically!)
