Royal Bank of Canada v. Darlington et al.

Counsel to the Royal Bank of Canada in an action against several former underwriters of Lloyd’s of London who secured their underwriting obligations with letters of credit issued by the Royal Bank. The Bank was entitled to honour demands for payment under the letters of credit regardless of allegation of fraud which ultimately could not be established by the Bank’s customers.
