Haskett v. Equifax

In this class action, the representative plaintiff claimed that Equifax was negligent and in breach of a duty to him in failing to comply with the statutory requirement not to report statute-barred debts and by failing to implement procedures to remove the prohibited information from his credit reports. The Court of Appeal expanded the scope of the application of the law of negligence to credit reporting agencies.
