Shannon Gaudet Honoured with Lexpert Rising Stars Award for Excellence in Legal Practice

Shannon Gaudet, a partner at Lerners LLP, has been recognized as a recipient of the prestigious Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 Award. The award is presented annually by Lexpert, Canada’s leading legal industry publication, and celebrates young legal professionals who have demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and achievements in their areas of practice.

Since joining Lerners LLP as an associate in 2012, Shannon’s clear, calm approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing exceptional client service has played a pivotal role in expanding and diversifying the firm’s portfolio.

Shannon specializes in health law, professional regulation, and specialty risk and insurance work. She was selected for the honour after an extensive nomination process that evaluates legal talent, achievements, client service, and contributions to the profession. She has argued several high profile and complex cases achieving positive results for her clients. She often strategically negotiates resolutions resulting in more favourable outcomes, reduced legal costs and decreased demand on court time.

Shannon has made notable contributions to the firm’s continued success in assuming the role of relationship partner for several institutional clients, while also forging new relationships. She has earned a reputation for her keen analytical ability and all-inclusive approach to client service. She integrates her thorough understanding of civil litigation and business acumen into comprehensive legal strategies, which involve proactive risk assessment and creative solutions to mitigate potential liabilities. Shannon’s ability to navigate complex health law and insurance issues, and her proactive approach in resolving matters have become hallmarks of her practice.

Shannon is known for her generosity in sharing complex and interesting cases with associates, recognizing the importance of providing them with growth and learning opportunities. She is also involved in professional organizations including the Law Society, Advocates Society, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association through speaking engagements, publications, and committee involvement.
