Peter Kryworuk Elected President of The Advocates’ Society
Lerners is proud to announce that Peter W. Kryworuk, senior Partner in our London office, has been elected President of The Advocates’ Society (TAS), where he will also continue in his role as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. TAS is a not-for-profit association of more than 6,000 judges, lawyers and advocates from all practice areas, and Canada’s premier advocacy skills training provider, that aims to be the voice of advocates in Canada.
For more than three decades, Peter has been an engaged and active member and leader at TAS, from his most recent term as Vice President and his previous terms as Treasurer and Secretary, to chairing and serving on numerous committees, task forces, and serving as a faculty member for countless CPD programs. “We are incredibly proud of Peter’s appointment as well as his advocacy for our profession,” said Graham Porter, Firm Chair. “Lerners has a long history of leadership at the bar in Ontario and Canada, and Peter’s dedication and tireless efforts on behalf of our firm, our profession and TAS are sincerely appreciated.”
“I am honoured that my colleagues have entrusted me to serve them as President of the Advocates’ Society,” said Peter. “The past two years have been a challenging time for the legal profession, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to further the Society’s mandate to promote excellence in advocacy and the highest standards of professionalism within a fair and accessible justice system.”
Leader of the firm’s Health Law Group, Peter has a wide civil litigation and appellate practice which includes medical and professional negligence, personal injury and insurance litigation, product liability litigation, commercial litigation and class action litigation. Peter is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has been included in numerous directories, guides and rankings for his outstanding work as a litigator. In addition to being a member of TAS for many years, Peter has dedicated his time to many charities and community organizations including London Health Sciences Centre, London Health Sciences Foundation, London Community Foundation, Fanshawe College Foundation, Canadian Medical Hall of Fame and London Ukrainian Centre.
Congratulations to Peter on this momentous and well-deserved achievement.
