Lerners LLP Welcomes 6 New Partners
Lerners LLP is proud to congratulate six impressive young lawyers on their admission to the partnership: Spencer Jones, Erika Tower, Clark Armstrong, David Isaac, Andrew Johnson, and Mark McAuley.
Spencer Jones
Spencer is a partner at Lerners with a broad practice including Dispute Resolution and Advocacy, Professional Regulation, Appellate Advocacy and a focus on Restructuring and Insolvency. Spencer has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch Canada, for Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law, as well as Legal Malpractice Law. With respect to his Restructuring and Insolvency practice, Spencer has acted for an array of parties, including creditors, debtors and court appointed officers.
Erika Tower
Erika is a personal injury lawyer who takes a calm, practical, and pragmatic approach to her legal work. She has represented clients before the License Appeal Tribunal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Appeal. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of civil matters, she has a broad perspective and understanding of the strategy and motivations of both sides. Erika was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada Ones to Watch for Personal Injury Litigation.
Clark Armstrong
Clark is a partner in our Real Estate and Land Development, Business Law & Municipal Law groups at Lerners LLP. His real estate expertise includes acting on behalf of institutional lenders on commercial financings; he represents landowners in the purchase, refinancing, and sale of commercial, industrial and development properties. Clark’s municipal practice involves development projects, planning applications and expropriations. His clients include financial institutions and lenders, owner-managed businesses, commercial landlords and tenants, builders, municipalities, and conservation organizations.
David Isaac
David’s practice focuses on health law and personal injury. Cycling is his primary method of transportation, and he’s been riding to work for over 15 years. Beyond helping injured cyclists, he also assists people injured in car accidents, slip and falls, and people who have suffered dog bites. He is currently on the board of London Cycle Link and teaches a course called “The Law of Urbanism” at Western Law. David regularly guest lectures at Western University in the Nursing Department, the Physiotherapy Department and the Faculty of Law.
Andrew Johnston
Andrew is a corporate-commercial lawyer in our Business Law Group. He provides strategic guidance across a wide range of corporate law matters, including licensing and distribution, mergers and acquisitions, commercial agreements, and shareholder issues. Focused on delivering practical, results-driven advice, he excels at negotiating and drafting agreements that align with his clients’ objectives while safeguarding their interests.
Outside of his legal practice, Andrew serves as Chair of the Foundation Board for the Boys & Girls Club of London. In his personal time, he enjoys traveling to new destinations, experimenting with Italian cuisine, and staying active through trail running, golf, skiing, and squash.
Mark McAuley
Mark’s practice spans corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, commercial real estate, and general corporate matters. He brings a passion for entrepreneurship, technology, and the arts and entertainment sector to his work, helping businesses navigate complex challenges with expertise and creativity.
Mark’s journey began at Western Law, where he was a standout leader. He served as an executive of the Student Legal Society, president of the Western Law Chapter of the Black Law Students Association, and was honored as valedictorian of his graduating class.
Outside the office, Mark is a professional musician and a proud member of the Juno-nominated group The McAuley Boys, performing since 1994 and recently inducted into the London Music Hall of Fame. His diverse interests include graphic design, fitness, travel, bad movies, and great food.
