Lerners Admits Several New Partners
Lerners LLP is proud to congratulate six impressive young lawyers on their admission to partnership: Danielle Douek, Danielle Gauvreau, Andrew Hentz, Alex Sharpe, Rebecca Shoom, and Cale Sutherland.

A passionate advocate with over ten years’ of diverse litigation experience including in health law, plaintiff personal injury, insurance defence and education law, Danielle Douek is a litigator in our London office. In addition to her advocacy work on behalf of her clients, she also provides advice related to professional regulation and privacy. Danielle has served as a member of the Ontario Bar Association Health Law Section Executive since 2019.
Danielle Gauvreau practices exclusively in the area of insurance defence from the firm’s London office. Her practice includes providing advice and representation related to personal injury claims, statutory accident benefits, property damage claims, insurance coverage, and subrogation. Danielle sits on the Board of Directors of Investing in Children.
Andrew Hentz’s practice is focused on real estate and land development law. He advises clients on the acquisition, financing, development and sale of farm, residential, commercial and industrial properties. Prior to embarking upon his legal career, Andrew was an Infantry Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Regular Force, and subsequently served in the Primary Reserve until 2017.
A litigator based in our London office, Alex Sharpe’s varied practice includes insurance defence, health law, professional regulation and class actions. Alex currently serves as a Trustee of the Middlesex Law Association and was a Member of the Young Advocates Standing Committee (YASC) of The Advocates’ Society from 2016 to 2020.
Rebecca Shoom is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Arbitration, and Appellate Advocacy Groups. She represents clients in a number of areas including, business and contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, commercial arbitrations, employment litigation, and securities litigation. Rebecca is a Member of The Advocates’ Society’s Young Advocates Standing Committee and a Roster Lawyer for the Ontario Securities Commission Litigation Assistance Program.
Cale Sutherland practises plaintiff personal injury law and health law. In his personal injury practice, Cale represents clients who have been seriously injured to assist them in obtaining compensation and moving on with their lives. Cale represents clients in regulatory and litigation matters within his health law practice. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the TAP Centre for Creativity in London, Ontario.
