JANET STEWART RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTOR OF LAWS

We’re thrilled to congratulate our very own Janet Stewart, who has had an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LL.D) conferred upon her by University of Western Ontario, in recognition of her long-standing commitment to the advancement of women in law, and to serving the community.

Throughout her more than 50-year career, Janet has been and continues to be a trailblazer, setting the bar for exceptional leadership and inspiration not only at Lerners, but in the community at large through her exemplary work ethic, dedication, and professionalism.

As the first woman lawyer to be hired at Lerners, and first ever female Managing Partner of a large firm, she has had an indelible impact on generations of lawyers inside and outside of the firm, mentoring and guiding them through their personal and professional growth and development.

Beyond the walls of the firm, she is also known as a committed and compassionate leader and advocate in the London community.  She has served on dozens of boards, including The London Community Foundation, London Health Sciences Centre Foundation, United Way, YMCA, Salvation Army, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Huron University College, Western University, and our Faculty of Law to name a few.

We know Janet as an exceptional mentor inside and outside of the firm, and are delighted that she has earned this well deserved recognition for her many contributions to the profession and to serving the community. Congratulations Dr. Stewart!
