Announcing the Finalists in the Lerners 90th Anniversary Charitable Giveaway

September 3, 2019 – Toronto, London – The Lerners 90th Anniversary Charitable Giveaway has reached the voting stage. The general public is invited to visit www.lerners90.ca and vote on which of the 10 available donations of up to $30,000 will be made to the not-for-profit organizations and charities named in those stories. The charities identified by the finalists (in alphabetical order) are:

1. Craigwood Youth Services
2. Days for Girls London Ontario
3. Investing in Children
4. Indwell
5. Kids Kicking Cancer Canada
6. Parkdale Community Legal Services
7. Peacebuilders International (Canada)
8. PHSS (formerly Participation House Support and Services, London and area)
9. The Sunshine Foundation of Canada
10. Youth Opportunities Unlimited

This year, Lerners LLP proudly celebrates its 90th anniversary as a law firm. From our humble beginnings as a one man practice in London, to becoming one of Southwestern Ontario’s largest firms, we recognize that our clients, staff and the legal and broader community have been integral in helping build our success. Instead of throwing a big gala or party for our anniversary, we thought we would honour those who have helped us by helping them give back to their communities.

In addition to the more than 100 charities and organizations that we continue to support, the Lerners LLP 90th Anniversary Charitable Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) will see a total of $90,000 donated in honour of our 90 years as a law firm to various charities and not-for-profit organizations which have had an impact on our clients, staff or friends. We invited our staff, lawyers, clients and the general public to share their stories describing how an eligible charity or not-for-profit organization had helped them in a meaningful way.

We received more than 250 submissions from across Ontario detailing how charitable organizations, supporting a variety of causes, had made a real difference in the lives of individuals, family and institutions. Our panel of judges have narrowed down the entries based on established criteria and selected the Top 10 Finalists.
