  • Carolyn is a partner with Lerners LLP who was called to the Ontario bar in 2000 after graduating from the University of Western Ontario.  Carolyn initially joined a small boutique law firm as the only associate and spent time almost every week in court within her first year including assisting on trials and arguing appeals.  Carolyn started appearing before administrative tribunals and has continued to do through throughout her 15 years in practice.
  • In 2004, Carolyn acted as counsel to the Honourable Mr. Justice R.J. Haines in the Review of the Meat Inspection and Regulatory Regimes in Ontario on a sabbatical.  During the review, Carolyn met with many individuals involved in public health law around the province which cemented her passion for health law and regulatory work.
  • From 2006 to present, Carolyn’s practice has focussed on a combination of litigation and administrative/regulatory matters including investigations, privacy, hospital board and human rights tribunal matters along with discipline and fitness to practise hearings.  Carolyn has acted for clients before tribunals in several areas including real estate brokers, motor vehicle dealers, medicine, nursing, social worker and dentistry regulation.  Carolyn has brought appeals and judicial review applications before single judges, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.  She has spoken at events both for Ontario lawyers and lawyers across North America on a variety of topics from technology in legal practice to health law topics such as informed consent.  Carolyn has been selected by her peers to be included in Best Lawyers in Canada for the past three years.
